Russia Cancels Deputy Foreign Ministers’ Talks in Moscow
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin canceled planned talks with his visiting Georgian counterpart Giorgi Manjgaladze on September 29, according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
Manjgaladze’s major assignment in Moscow was to hold talks with Russian officials over border delimitation. Talks were held on September 27-28.
Additional issues, including a spy row between the two countries, were to be discussed on September 29 with the Russian Deputy Foreign Ministry.
“Despite the Georgian side’s readiness, the talks were thwarted,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said on September 29.
