Burjanadze Comments on ‘Spy’ Row
Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said on September 28 that before making any “threatening statements” towards Georgia, Russian officials should first analyze the evidence against Russian military officers suspected of espionage.
“I think the Russian side would do better to find out the details of the evidence we have against its citizens. But the fact that statements and threats were made by the Russian side without analyzing the evidence [against spy suspects] indicates that the Russian side is not interested in details, or they already know all the details of the case and are just are resorting to politically blackmailing Georgia,” Burjanadze said.
