Paper Reports Clash in Kodori

The Georgian daily Rezonansi (Resonance) reported on September 20 that one police officer was injured as a result of a clash with a group of armed rebels in upper Kodori Gorge.

The reported the clash comes shortly after wanted rebel warlord Emzar Kvitsiani threatened to use guerrilla warfare against government forces stationed in the gorge.

?Deputy Interior Minister Levan Gvazava told Rezonansi that an armed clash did occur in Kodori Gorge, but [he said it was] between Georgian police forces and Abkhazian criminal gangs,? Rezonansi writes.
