New Chief of Intelligence Service Appointed
Reports say Anna Zhvania, a presidential aide on civil integration issues, has been appointed chief of the intelligence service.
The previous intelligence chief was Batu Kutelia, who has already been appointed Deputy Foreign Minister.
Officials from the President?s Administration say the President has yet to sign the appropriate decree on Anna Zhvania?s appointment.
The intelligence service is an independent body directly subordinate to the Georgian President.
