Watchdog Reports Inaccuracies in Voter List to CEC

The election watchdog group New Generation-New Initiative (nGnI) said it has handed over to the Central Election Commission (CEC) inaccuracies revealed after rechecking voter lists ahead of the October 5 local self-governance elections.

nGnI said in a statement on September 15 that the organization carried out a door-to-door rechecking of 100 000 voters in Tbilisi and in 13 other towns and municipal centers.

The monitoring has revealed that 1 140 voters were missing from the list and 628 deceased persons were included in the voter list. 500 other inaccuracies of various kinds were also found as a result of the monitoring, which was carried out with the support of Eurasia Foundation and USAID, nGnI said.
