Tskhinvali Offers to Postpone JCC
South Ossetian chief negotiator Boris Chochiev sent a letter to the co-chairmen of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC) over South Ossetia, calling them for a postponement of a session currently scheduled for September 14-15 in Tskhinvali, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on September 12.
According to this report, if the sides give their consent, a consultative meeting of the JCC chairmen will be held in Tskhinvali on September 14, while a plenary session of the Joint Control Commission will be held on September 15-16.
However, the South Ossetian chief negotiator did not specify the motives behind his proposal to postpone the session.
The South Ossetian side has already once demanded postponement of the JCC session; as a result the session was rescheduled from September 5-6 to September 14-15.
