Tskhinvali Calls for Top Level Talks with Tbilisi

The South Ossetian authorities are ready for a top level meeting with the Georgian side in the frames of the existing negotiating format, South Ossetian Foreign Minister Murat Jioyev said in a letter sent to OSCE Chairman-in-Office Karel De Gucht on September 8.
 
Murat Jioyev said that the aim of this meeting will be ?the signing of a document by the South Ossetian and Georgian Presidents on the non-resumption of hostilities,? the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.
 
?This would become an important and effective move towards the settlement,? the breakaway region?s Foreign Minister said.
