Ministers of State and Interior Visit S.Ossetian Conflict Zone

Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Merab Antadze and Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili have left for the South Ossetian conflict zone after a clash was reported between the Georgian and South Ossetian troops on September 8.

One Georgian officer and three South Ossetian militia members were reportedly killed in a shootout near the village of Nikozi.

It is not yet clear whether the Georgian ministers plan to hold talks with the South Ossetian officials.
