OSCE Launches New Border Training Program for Georgia
The OSCE launched a training program on September 4 aimed at improving the operational planning and rapid reaction capacity of the Georgian Border Police, according to the OSCE.
The 12-month Capacity-Building Programme will train 360 senior border police officers in decision-making methodology and skills for rapid reaction to border incidents.
“This one-year programme aims at helping the Georgian Border Police service strengthen key capacities and capabilities, and to create its own training system,” Ambassador Roy Reeve, OSCE Head of Mission, said.
The OSCE carried out a one-year Training Assistance Programme for Georgian border guards in 2005-2006.
