CEC Chief Visits Kodori Gorge

The chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) has left Tbilisi to visit the Georgian-administered upper Kodori Gorge in breakaway Abkhazia to oversee preparations for the October 5 local self-governance elections.

The CEC reported on September 1 that residents of upper Kodori Gorge will be able to elect a local self-governance body for the first time.
