Iranian President to Visit Georgia
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to visit Georgia this coming autumn, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Chechelashvili said on August 18. No exact date has been set for the visit.
Chechelashvili said that a Georgian-Iranian intergovernmental group will meet in the near future to set a date.
President Saakashvili invited his Iranian counterpart during a meeting in Tbilisi with visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari on August 15.
President Saakashvili paid an official visit to Iran in July, 2004.
