Reports: Two Die in Abkhaz Clash

At least two people were killed in a shootout on August 8 in the Gali district of breakaway Abkhazia, reports say.

The incident occurred in the village of Repi after a dispute between local Georgian residents and Abkhazians.

Two Georgians were killed and, according to the yet unconfirmed report, at least one person was injured in the clash.

The administration of the State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues is now trying to clarify details of the incident.
