Georgia to Clarify its NATO Plans with Russia
Georgia is expected to start consultations with Russia regarding its plans to join NATO this September, Georgian Ambassador to Russia Irakli Chubinishvili said at a news conference in Moscow on August 4.
?I think we will have no problems in this regard. Russia has very close and friendly relations with the member states of the alliance,? said Irakli Chubinishvili as quoted by RIA Novosti news agency.
President Saakashvili said on August 2 that Georgia?s NATO membership will help to improve relations between Georgia and Russia.
