Georgian MFA Criticizes Russian-Led Negotiating Formats

The Georgian Foreign Ministry said on August 1 that the existing formats of negotiations on conflict resolution have already exhausted their resources, especially when Russia ?acts as a party in the conflict instead of mediating.?
 
?Active and direct involvement of the international community is necessary in the conflict settlement process in Georgia,? the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
 
At the same time, the Georgian side reiterated its readiness to hold a direct and ?result-oriented dialogue? with the Abkhaz side to ?lay the foundation for a new framework for conflict resolution.?
