Tbilisi Demands Extra Russian Troops ‘Immediate Withdrawal’
The Georgian Foreign Ministry demanded from Russia on May 2 “to immediately withdraw” its additional troops sent to Abkhazia this week.
In a statement the Georgian Foreign Ministry said that Russia’s decision to unilaterally increase level of its peacekeeping troops in Abkhazia was violating nine agreements and decision adopted in frames of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
It has also demanded from Russia to immediately provide Tbilisi with detailed information about numbers and deployment locations of extra troops sent to Abkhazia.
