Two New Ministers Appointed
Georgian Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze has appointed Bakur Kvezereli as the new minister of agriculture and Irakli Gvaladze – as the minister of environment.
Prior to their appointments, both men were deputy ministers in their respective ministries.
Petre Tsiskarishvili and Zaza Gamtsemlidze, the former agriculture and environment ministers, respectively, had to resign as both of them are seeking majoritarian MP seats in the May 21 parliamentary elections. The ruling party nominated Tsiskarishvili to contest the Akhmeta single-mandate constituency and Gamtsemlidze in Tbilisi’s Vake single-mandate constituency.
