Bakradze Visits NATO HQ

Davit Bakradze, Georgian president’s special envoy, is visiting NATO headquarters in Brussels on April 28 after paying visits to the United States and Germany.

Bakradze, who resigned from the foreign minister’s position to run for the May 21 parliamentary elections, will meet with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and will address the North Atlantic Council.

Bakradze said that his visit is important because it would come just before the NATO-Russia Council planned for April 30.

“We hope that discussion of Georgia’s issue today will enable NATO member states to raise this issue before Russia on April 30,” Bakradze told reporters.
