Competition Announced for Public TV Director’s Position
The board of trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) has accepted the resignation of Director-General Tamar Kintsurashvili and announced an open competition to fill the vacancy.
The conditions of the competition will be posted on the Public Broadcaster’s website. Kintsurashvili’s deputy, Levan Giorgadze, will temporarily perform the director-general’s functions.
On March 5 the nine-member GPB board elected Erekle Tripolski, reportedly an opposition nominee, as chairman of the board. Levan Gakheladze – a ruling party nominee – was elected as deputy chairman.
