Shortlist of Public TV Board Contenders Unveiled
A shortlist of 27 contenders for the public TV board was unveiled on February 26 after talks between the opposition and ruling party.
In accordance with the law, the president must nominate three short-listed contenders for each seat in the nine-member board – hence a total of 27 candidates – with Parliament making the final selection.
The list includes:
1. Vano Tarkhnishvili – a promoter;
Bakur Sulakauri – a publisher;
Giorgi Chanturia – head of animation studio;
2. Giorgi Anchabadze – academic
Giorgi Topuria – head of consulting company Sakartvelo.com
Lola Khasia
3. Iago Kachkachishvili – a sociologist and professor at Tbilisi State University;
Erekli Tripolski – founder of Marao studio
Soso Tsintsadze – a political analyst;
4. Tamar Dekanosidze – GMT Group PR manager;
Rusudan Telia – Analytical and Consulting Team (ACT) Ltd.
Irma Sokhadze – singer;
5. Vili Grigoriani
Zurab Kharatishvili – chief executive of KPMG-Georgia audit company;
Maia Chilashvili –PR manager of ALPE Foundation, non-governmental organization;
6. Davit Turashvili – a writer;
Tamaz Tkemaladze;
Mikheil Chiaureli – film director;
7. Nino Danelia – program coordinator at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management;
Marina Vekua – professor at the Georgian University of Social Sciences;
Maia Mikashavidze;
8. Levan Gakheladze – PR menanger of the Ilia Chavchavadze State University;
Paata Veshapidze – co-editor-in-chief of the daily 24 Saati (24 Hours);
Zaur Khalilovi – board member of the Open Society Georgia Foundation;
9. Gia Gugushvili – professor at the Georgian Art Academy;
Vladimier Ugulava – chairman of the board of directors of Tao-PrivatBank;
Mamuka Pachuashvili – co-editor-in-chief of the daily 24 Saati;
Parliament is expected to vote on the candidates later today.
