Senior MP: Russia should Support Unrecognized States
Konstantin Kosachev, head of the International Relations Committee of the Russian State Duma (lower house of Parliament), said Russia should review its “moderate” position on unrecognized republics if European states recognize the independence of the Serbian province of Kosovo.
The recognition of Kosovo is “a very serious factor [to be considered] in revising Russia’s cautious policy towards unrecognized republics,” Kosachev said.
