Inauguration Planned for January 20, or January 21

The inauguration of Mikheil Saakashvili will be held either on January 20 or 21, acting President Nino Burjanadze has said.

“Lots of top-level foreign officials are expected to arrive in Georgia to attend the inauguration,” Burjanadze told journalists on January 11.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is expected to announce final official results on January 13; the opposition, which insists on a run-off, is set to stage a protest rally in Tbilisi on the same day.
