CEC Says Voter Turnout is High

Voter turnout was about 16% by midday, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

CEC spokesman Irakli Porchkhidze said at a news conference at 3:30pm local time that voter turnout was up to 15% in the capital, Tbilisi.

He also said that so far “no major violations had been observed” and the electoral process was proceeding under “democratic and stable conditions.”
