Nine-Party Coalition Campaigns in Western Georgia
Presidential candidate Levan Gachechiladze of the nine-party opposition coalition took his election campaign to western Georgia on December 7.
Gachechiladze will spend the next three days campaigning in Zestaponi, Tskaltubo, Samtredia, Tsageri, Lentekhi, Chokhatauri, Ozurgeti and Poti.
Meanwhile, youth wings from the nine-party bloc are on December 7 expected to stage protests in three different areas of Tbilisi – Rustaveli Avenue, Rike and outside Imedi TV. They are expected to march under the banner ?We Remember November 7.?
All three venues were focal points of the November 7 unrest, when about 600 people were injured after riot police broke up a demonstration with water cannons, rubber bullets and tear gas. The police also raided the Imedi TV studios later on the same day.
