New Rights Endorse Gamkrelidze’s Presidential Bid
Opposition New Rights party has formally endorsed its leader, MP Davit Gamkrelidze, as a candidate for the January 5 early presidential elections.
“[Davit Gamkrelidze] is a western-style leader with strong tradition and Christian values,” MP Pikria Chikhradze of the New Right said while addressing the party congress on November 24. “His party is not a one-man party; he has a strong team of co-thinkers.”
MP Irakli Iashvili of the New Rights Party and member of parliamentary committee for economic policy, was selected to be Prime Minister in the event of Gamkrelidze winning elections.
MP Gamkrelidze’s presidential bid has also been supported by Industrialist and National Democratic parties.
