
Polish President Meets Opposition
Polish President Lech Kaczynski met with Georgian opposition leaders in Tbilisi on November 23.
?The President wanted to know what has brought the country to a political crisis and what was the reason for recent mass rallies,? Davit Usupashvili, leader of the opposition Republic party told reporters following the meeting.
?He [President Saakashvili] cheats our population, when he says that the Polish and Lithuanian Presidents arrived as his honorary guests on occasion of the Rose Revolution,? Shalva Natelashvili, leader of the opposition Labor Party, said, ?In reality, the leaders of the two friendly countries [Poland and Lithuania] arrived to discuss the difficult situation, which was created after Saakashvili declared a chemical war against his own people.?
Lithuanian President, Valdas Adamkus, is also visiting Tbilisi on November 23. President Saakashvili was due to meet both leaders later today. Earlier today, President of Poland attended a congress of Mikheil Saakashvili?s ruling party.
