Georgia Recalls Ambassador from Russia for Consultations
Tbilisi has recalled its ambassador to Russia, Irakli Cbubinishvili, “for consultations in connection with recent developments in the country,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier the Georgian officials accused some opposition leaders of cooperating with the Russia’s counter-intelligence service. Meanwhile, the Georgian Foreign Ministry has summoned ambassador to Georgia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, over the same issue.
Riot police used tear gas and water cannons for the second time today to disperse a renewed protest rally. After dispersing rally earlier on November 7 outside the parliament, thousands again gathered on the area known as Rike several kilometers away from the parliament.
