
Provincial Gas Networks for Sale
The Georgian government has announced it is to privatize 26 small provincial gas distribution networks with a total starting price of USD 10 million.
The companies will be privatized in five separate lots, each of them uniting several networks from the same or neighboring provinces.
The first lot includes seven companies operating in the eastern region of Kakheti, serving 14,330 consumers. The starting price is USD 1.7 million.
The second one comprises three relatively large companies from three separate regions ? Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti, with a starting price of USD 3 million.
The third lot unites six companies from the Imereti region with a starting price of USD 1.3 million.
Seven gas distribution networks are in the fourth lot, covering the Samegrelo and Guria regions, with a starting price of USD 2 million. Three companies are in the fifth one in Adjara, with a starting price of USD 2 million.
The deadline for the submission of bids expires on November 14, according to the Georgian Economy Ministry. An increased capacity for the distribution networks is one of the purchasing conditions.
