Abkhazia, South Ossetia Establish ‘Diplomatic Ties’

Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh met with newly appointed South Ossetian ‘ambassador’ to Sokhumi, Robert Kokoity, the Abkhaz leader’s website reported on September 26.

“Relations between Abkhazia and South Ossetia have entered a new phase and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the independent republics should promote closer interaction in all spheres of cooperation,” Bagapsh said during the talks, according to his press office.
