Education Ministry to Protect Kids
Georgian Education Minister Kakha Lomaia said on September 14 that measures to protect school children would be undertaken this academic year.
The education and interior ministries would, he said at a news conference, jointly institute regular links and cooperation between schools and the police.
The minister also said his ministry would compile an electronic database on the personal histories of all pupil from the 6th to 12th grades.
Both projects are in response to a recent surge in violence among school children.
