Georgia to Reduce Troop Levels in Iraq
Georgia plans to reduce troop levels in Iraq from the current 2,000 to 300, Georgian Defense Minister Davit Kezerashvili said on September 14.
?We have a prior agreement with the United States under which we will reduce our troop levels in summer 2008 from 2,000 to 300,? Kezerashvili said.
In June the Georgian parliament authorised an increase in troop levels in Iraq from 850 to 2,000, making Georgia, on a per capita basis, one of the biggest contributors to US-led operations.
