‘Deeds will be Our Response to Opponents’ – Saakashvili Says
President Saakashvili told his opponents on September 7 that he would only respond to their criticism with deeds and the country’s development.
Speaking at the opening of a new textile factory set up in the Khelvachauri district of Adjara with Turkish investment, Saakashvili said that the new factory was yet another materialization of the cabinet’s programme, which had been slammed by opposition lawmakers during hearings on September 7.
“Today Parliament approved the government’s new programme,” Saakashvili said. “No parliamentary debate can overshadow deeds like this [referring to the newly opened factory.]”
Saakashvili also said that there was no other place in the world, except Shanghai and Dubai, which was developing as fast as the Adjara region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said on September 7 that the opposition in Georgia was so weak that his cabinet “actually has no opposition at all.”
