MPs Meet Would-be Ministers
Lawmakers from various parliamentary committees began on Monday a series of meetings with new would-be ministers.
The meetings come ahead of the reshuffled cabinet?s parliamentary confidence vote planned for September 7.
Meetings were held with Eka Tkeshelashvili, Davit Chantladze and Alexander Khetaguri and Davit Tkheshelashvili the nominees for the justice, environment, energy and healthcare portfolios, respectively.
The meetings were mostly ignored by opposition lawmakers, who have said that the reshuffled cabinet will not bring any changes. The proposed programme of government, they have claimed, amounts to nothing more than ?a wish-list? with no concrete action plan involved.
Georgia?s integration into NATO, peaceful resolution of secessionist conflicts, privatization of state-owned enterprise, setting up of a free economic zone, development of health insurance system were listed among the new cabinet?s priorities.
