Russia’s Role as Mediator Undermined – Minister
Davit Bakradze, the Georgian state minister for conflict resolution issues, said the August 6 air attack on Georgia had finally undermined Russia’s role as a mediator in the South Ossetian conflict resolution process.
“It is even hard to imagine sitting at a negotiating table with Russia and holding talks with Russia as a mediator after this act of aggression which was carried out against Georgia by Russia,” Bakradze told Rustavi 2 TV on August 7.
