Saakashvili at CIS Summit in St. Petersburg
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in St. Petersburg on June 9, the Georgian leader?s press office reported.
Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili said the fact that a meeting would be held is positive in itself, but added he did not expect ?any particular results? from these talks.
Saakashvili who left for St. Petersburg on Saturday will attend an informal summit of leaders from the Commonwealth of Independent States which opens on June 10.
The Georgian President also plans to meet his Turkmen counterpart, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, on the sidelines of the summit.
