Tbilisi Opens Ossetian Cultural Center

The Center of Ossetian Culture and Art was opened in Tbilisi on June 2. The center will also serve as an office for representatives of the Tbilisi-loyal South Ossetian provisional administration in the capital.

The center, which is located in a park in downtown Tbilisi, is designed ?to promote Ossetian culture and art,? the provisional administration said.

Head of the provisional administration Dimitri Sanakoev, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava, State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Merab Antadze and lawmaker from the ruling party Giga Bokeria were present at the opening ceremony.

Sanakoev told reporters that the center would be engaged in ?working with ethnic Ossetians living in different parts of Georgia.?

?This is yet another attempt to restore mutual confidence between our people,? Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava said.
