Sanakoev Meets Interior Minister, Businessman

Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili visited the South Ossetian conflict zone on May 23 and met with the head of the local provisional administration, Dimitri Sanakoev.


Merabishvili told reporters that the a new police station was planned for the village of Kurta, the location of Sanakoev?s administration. The station would house a special police unit, he said.


Sanakoev also hosted Gogi Topadze, a Georgian beer magnate who is a founder of the opposition Industrialist party.


Topadze told reporters that business projects, in which his company plans to invest, were discussed.


He said that investments would be made in agriculture and retail.
