U.S. Destroyer Makes Port Call in Batumi

A US destroyer, the USS The SULLIVANS, will make a port call in Batumi from 30 April to 2 May. Rear Admiral Phillip Greene from Naval Forces Europe will also visit Batumi, the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi reported on April 27.  

“This is the first U.S. admiral to visit Georgia and is meant to show the U.S. Navy’s increased interest in NATO-Georgian cooperation in maritime security,” the embassy said. 

Combined training of Georgian and U.S. navy personnel will be conducted during the visit.
