Burjanadze: Tbilisi Plans ‘Updated’ S.Ossetia Roadmap
In coming months the Georgian authorities will present to the international community “new approaches, flexible ideas and updated roadmap” for the South Ossetian conflict resolution, Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said while addressing Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on March 20.
“This roadmap will include instruments for full reintegration of the local population into the Georgian society and state institutions, restitution of property rights, accommodation of cultural and educational needs, free mass media in native language,” Burjanadze said.
She reiterated that Tbilisi is ready to provide broad autonomy to South Ossetia wherein the central government will only be in charge of “core functions” involving defense, border protection and foreign policy
