Foreign direct investments will reach USD 1,7 billion in 2007, that will make 21% of the entire GDP, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said at the government?s session on March 21.

He said that last year foreign direct investments reached USD 1,12 billion, that is 14,5% of GDP. Among Georgia?s largest investors the Prime Minister named the United States, Great Britain and Kazakhstan.

?Most important is that despite Russia?s sanctions, last year economic growth amounted to almost 10%. This year our task is to achieve a two-digit figure of increase. For this purpose we will continue reforms and achieve relevant results,? the Prime Minister said.
