Tskhinvali Slams Saakashvili-Sanakoev Meeting

Tbilisi?s decision to officially establish ties with the Kurta-based alternative authorities of breakaway South Ossetia is an attempt to create ?artificial barriers? on the way to conflict settlement, Foreign Ministry of breakaway South Ossetia said in a statement on March 20.

The statement was made in a response to a meeting that took place between President Saakashvili and Tbilisi-loyal, self-imposed South Ossetian leader Dimitri Sanakoev in the Georgian village of Kurta in the conflict zone on March 19.

?The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Georgian leadership to refrain from provoking tensions in the Georgian-Ossetian relations and not to create artificial barriers on the way of real settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict,? the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on March 20.
