Georgian Leader, EU Foreign Policy Chief to Meet in Brussels
Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, will meet Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in Brussels on February 26, the EU foreign policy chief?s press office reported on Friday.
?The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss relations between the EU and the Republic of Georgia and issues of common interest, in particular the situation in the Caucasus region,? the press release said.
Georgian State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues Giorgi Baramidze and Head of European Commission Delegation to Georgia Per Eklund signed a new framework agreement between Georgia and EU in Tbilisi on February 23.
The new document, which replaces a previous framework agreement signed in 1994, will serve as a financial tool to implement EU-supported programs in Georgia including those set in the European Neighborhood Policy.
