Abkhaz Police to Open Additional Posts in Gali

The Abkhaz militia will open additional posts in the Gali district of breakaway Abkhazia, Ruslan Kishmaria, the Abkhaz leader?s envoy in the Gali district, said on February 2.

He said that the decision was made by the Security Council of the breakaway region.

?We need to take radical measures to protect our citizens,? Kishmaria said in a statement posted by the Abkhaz leader?s official web site.

The decision comes ahead of the so-called local governance and parliamentary elections in the breakaway region scheduled for February 11 and March 4, respectively.
