EU Officials Visit Tskhinvali

A European Union delegation involving Peter Semneby, the EU special envoy to the South Caucasus, and Hugues Mingarelli, the European Commission Director for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, held talks with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity in Tskhinvali on January 16, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.

Kokoity reiterated Tskhinvali?s readiness to cooperate with foreign partners ?who are interested in the maintenance of peace and the development of mutual trust between the conflicting sides,? according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.

The visit to Tskhinvali came after the EU officials held talks with the Georgian authorities in Tbilisi on January 15.
