Abkhaz Parliament Endorses 2007 Budget

The Parliament of breakaway Abkhazia approved the draft budget for 2007, which sets revenues and expenditures at 1,2 billion Russian rubles (about USD 45 million), Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on December 1.
 
The figure is 345 million Russian rubles (about USD 13 million) higher than the 2006 budget.
 
According to the same report, starting from January, 2007 authorities in the breakaway region plan to increase salaries in state structures by 30%, while the salaries of Interior Ministry employees will increase by 50%.
