New Chief of Adjara TV Appointed

Tea Tsetskhladze has been appointed as new chief of the Adjara TV station, replacing Evgeny Tavdgiridze.

Tsetskhladze previously served as a spokesperson of Levan Varshalomidze, Head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic.

Evgeny Tavdgiridze, a former journalist of RFE/RL Georgian Service, was appointed chief of Adjara TV in March, 2005 after a group of the station?s reporters protested against what they called censorship and pressure from the local authorities.
