PM Denies Speculations on More Cabinet Reshuffle
No other changes in the cabinet are planned, PM Zurab Nogaideli, who is currently visiting Brussels, told reporters on November 13.
?The cabinet was already reshuffled two or three days ago and speculations about more changes have no sense,? PM Nogaideli said.
Georgian media sources speculated on November 13 that the appointment of MP Nika Gvaramia of the ruling National Movement party as Justice Minister replacing Gia Kavtaradze was expected. The dismissal of Healthcare Minister Lado Chipashvili and appointment of Environment Minister Davit Tkeshelashvili as chief of the Chamber of Control ? the state audit agency – was also planned, according to the speculations.
The recent cabinet reshuffle took place on November 10 in which Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili became Economy Minister, replacing Irakli Chogovadze. The later was appointed General Director of the state-run Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) replacing Davit Ingorokva. Agriculture Minister Mikheil Svimonishvili became Governor of the western region of Guria. Governor of the eastern region Kakheti, Petre Tsiskarishvili, replaced Svimonishvili in the position of Agriculture Minister.
