Iran Offers Mediation in Russo-Georgia Row
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on October 22 that the Iranian government is ready to help Russia and Georgia in defusing tensions, IRNA news agency reported on October 22.
?If the two sides consider Iran?s mediation necessary, Tehran will agree to step in and solve the issue to strengthen regional ties,? Manouchehr Mottaki said after talks with visiting Georgian counterpart Gela Bezhuashvili in Tehran.
Russia has already rejected mediation offers from western countries.
