Russian, U.S. Diplomats Discuss UN Resolution on Abkhazia

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation William Burns on October 10, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
 
The sides discussed issues related to a draft resolution of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Abkhaz conflict zone and on prolonging the UN Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) mandate. UNOMIG?s current mandate expires on October 15.
