Saakashvili Condemns ‘Sowing Pessimism’
Speaking at a Georgian folk festival Art-Gene on July 22 President Saakashvili condemned attempts of certain forces in Georgia to sow pessimism in the society.
“Two basis are struggling [in Georgia] – the one of panic, cynicism and non-confidence in own strength and another of those people who have gathered today here and who sing, who hold a sward in one hand and with another are cultivating; who on the one hand have a mood to sing and on the other hand are preparing for the worst times. This latter Georgia will always be victorious,” Saakashvili said.
Recently, in a response to the opposition parties’ criticism, the authorities and ruling National Movement party leaders started to accuse opponents of “sowing frustration in society,” instead of supporting authorities in a very difficult moment amid tensions with Russia.
