North Ossetian Leader: S.Ossetia ‘Actually an Independent State’

Russia’s North Ossetian leader Teimuraz Mamsurov said on July 21 that his republic is cooperating with South Ossetia, “actually as with an independent state,” Interfax news agency reported.

A similar statement was made by Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov in respect of Abkhazia.

He said in Sokhumi on July 20 that the Russian capital city’s municipality will “cooperate with the Abkhaz leadership without any hesitation and fear as with an independent state.”
